Discover Stratford
Explore Textile Art at the St. Marys Station Gallery
Just a short drive from Stratford, the St. Marys Station Gallery is hosting "Lines and Stitches," a captivating exhibition of textile art by local artist Maggie Jorna. Running until February 22nd, this exhibit offers a unique look at this increasingly popular art form.
Curator Cameron Porteous notes a growing trend among Southwestern Ontario artists to explore new mediums, particularly since 2020. Jorna, a St. Marys resident, brings a diverse background in visual arts to her textile work. Inspired by her involvement with Textile Artists (TextileArtist.org), Jorna skillfully combines hand-printed fabrics, recycled materials, found objects, and intricate stitching to create stunning and thought-provoking pieces.
Many of Jorna's works are available for purchase at the gallery. Visit the St. Marys Station Gallery for more information.
